Bio
Paloma Garcia is a French and Dominican oil painter based in Paris. Having been raised within the realm of French embassies and consulates has led her to live and travel in several countries around the world.
After nurturing a lifelong passion for drawing and painting, Paloma graduated in cartoon animation in 2012 from the Pivaut school in Nantes, France. That same year, Paloma decided to continue her artistic training, specializing in oil painting at The Art Students League of New York. In 2020, prompted by the Covid pandemic to move to Paris, Paloma Garcia decided to devote herself full-time to her career as a painter.
Artistic work
Paloma’s exposure to many different cultures has given her an abundance of artistic influences that are perceptible in her artwork. Each work is unique and distinct from the others.
Paloma works mainly in oils. She strives for realistic and semi-realistic renderings in her paintings. Among her passions are works with messages committed to preserving the environment and the cultures of the indigenous people of America.
This commitment has led her to collaborate with the Metropolitan Museum of New York among other large institutions. Her work has been exhibited mainly in the United States, and more recently in Paris at the Musée du Louvre. Her artistic work has appeared on the cover of several books, has been published in multiple international newspapers and blogs, and won an award from the United Nations.
